More shopping goodness
Who knew that I was capable of blowing $400 in under 2 hours? Not me, that's for sure. For that matter, who knew that I was capable of spending $90 of that $400 on two bras alone?
I love to shop. I'm not materialistic, really, but sometimes, it's really nice to be able to blow a whole wad of cash all at once and come out with clothing that really flatters me. All the big girls I know rejoice at this.
Speaking of big girls, Project De-Pudge has not exactly been going all that well. We were really good for a few weeks, and then we starting with the ripping of carpet and painting of the living room. Did you know that it only take two days of excused to undo two weeks of work? Yup. That's my wisdom for the day.
So I am begging people to join us, and help to make me accountable. Tekgrrl is too easily persuaded. :P
I'm doing well with the Caberet Raglan. I've completed the back and both sleeves, and only have the front to do. I left the front to the end because it has some interesting eylets and mini cables, which I figure are a nice reward for doing so much stockinette stitch. Blah, stockinette.
I am really loving the yarn though. Red Heart Cotton Plus. Who new? In being a yarn snob, you can really miss out on a few gems.

There has been a noticable absence of posting lately.
While there are three (!) compters in our one bedroom apartment, the one that has all the camera software needs some tinkering and Tekgrrl hasn't been able to get to it lately.
We've painted the walls in our livingroom a nice green colour, and finally got the padding and carpet that was piled up by the front door down to the garbage room.
On the needles at the moment are socks for my Dad's Xmas present (a little early, but whatever) made from Paton's Kroy Socks in Denim Jaquard and the Cabert Raglan from the summer issue of Interweave Knits. I'm using Red Heart TLC Cotton in black. I know, I know, Red Heart can be kind of shady, but the cotton/acrylic blend is really nice. I love working with cotton, but the addition of the acrylic gives a little more elasticity, and keeps it from being too heavy. I'm using one size bigger needles than called for, because I wanted to make sure that it drapes well. And it does.
We also went shopping at the mall today with Tekgrrl's old roomate (who may move into our buliding, YAY!). I bought two shirts, and the most amazing sex kitten pumps. I also put a really nice long, red, leather-like coat on layaway. I mentioned in the store that I would be coming back next weekend when I get my paycheck, and the sales girl offered to hold it for me, as she said that they were selling out really fast.
So, next weekend is another mall trip. Wow. Two in a month. Go me.
