Went to GLOBAL (Gay, Lesbian Or Bisexual At Laurier) last night for the fist time since it started to snow. I worked on the second Grandma's Stash sock as well as the back of my I*Scream tank.

Haven't been doing nearly as much knitting as I would like, which stinks, because I really want to get into the Regia, as well as start drafting for the Vamp Cardigan. Plus, I want to start sewing and using my sewing software that Santa brought.

Harumph.

I decided to bite the bullet and buy some Regia sock yarn from Cloth & Clay. I can't believe that I spent $16 on yarn for one pair of socks. Holy crap. But, well, they will be knit using 2.0 mm (!!!!) needles, so at least I'll get to enjoy knitting them for a reasonably long time.

I also finished one of the Grandma's Stash socks. Tekgrrl has claimed it for her own. That's okay, I think I measured my feet wrong, anyway.

And to show that I do other crafty stuff, that isn't knitting, I'm posting a picutre of my Fire Corset. I made it for Halloween out of a simplicty pattern. Never again. I think I'll stick to my software for patterns again. Tell me, how does someone with DD breasts manage to find a corset Way. To. Big. I had to create darts in it. Oh well, live and learn. I looked really good in it.

It was paired with a skirt made out of 9 metres of tulle in red, orange and yellow.

Ta daaaaaa!

Finished the front of the I*Scream Tank... When it's done, I plan on edging it with either knitted or crocheted black lace.

And here is a closeup of the tank. I think this picture is the closest to the actually colour.

I have bread in the oven. Smells so yummy!

Public Service Announcement...

This is not a porn site!

After reviewing some of my stats, I have the sinking suspicion that a few people have come here looking for porn. There are no bored housewives, lounging naked around here. Not yet anyway. I have to wait until Tekgrrl opens a museum and makes a ton of money. Then maybe that will be me.

In other bloggy news, the I*Scream tank is going along very well, I'm about 2 inches from the armhole shaping, and I will post a picture when the front is done. This gives me motivation to actually work on the thing.

But... to really prove that I swatched for this one...

Sorry about the glare. I didn't realize that my desk is somewhat shiny.

I'm also working on a pair of socks out of a blue baby yarn that was sitting in Grandma's closet. They are toe-up with a short row heel. All I have left to do on the first one is finish the leg part. I'll post a pic of that one, too, when I'm done.

Yay for pictures!

Yeah. I'm a dork. I get so excited to read my referral stats and see that some of you reading this are not my real-life friends. Guess I just have a big head.

So. I finally figured out the whole camera-to-computer thing, and I'm going to post a few pictures.

This is my cat Isis, she likes to knit, too!

Sometimes, she knits so fast, she gets all tangled up...

These are K's socks. They are more of a bed sock than anything else, and they kinda look like doll socks. I attribute that to the big leg portion, and her small feet. At least her boyfriend and his elephant feet can't steal these ones.

And to prove that I actually *have* swatched something for once in my life, here is a picture of my swatch for the I*Scream Tank. More on this project later.

Actually, no. I haven't uploaded that one yet. That will have to wait until I get home from work tonight.

Ok, everyone. I put a counter on my page for a reason... I want to know if anyone reads this thing. So come on, comment already!

I you would drop me a quick note and let me know who you are and how you got here, that would make me the happiest little lesbian in the world!

So... it's been another few days. I meant to post pictures, but, uh... I don't know how to download the pictures off of m camera onto the computer. I'll have to get Tekgrrl to show me.

I finished the socks that I was knitting for my friend (Isis helped, she loves to knit :)), I'm working on a cotton tank top and I'm on the quest to find the perfect sock pattern.

I've just discovered a yarn store in town, so, eventually, I'm going to wander over there and see what they have. I'd like to get some Regia for my socks, and find some smaller DPN's. Something tells me that Acrylic fingering weight isn't going to cut it in the durability and comfort department.

Pictures coming, once I discover how to work the camera.

Okay. I may be a little pertentious right now, but I'm joining a knitting webring. I may be still a very average knitter. I use acrylic for almost everything, I have never blocked anything, it is very rare that I make a swatch, I buy yarn from Zellers and Walmart, and I generally use patterns (well, except for scarves, actually).

However, I want to branch out more, and hopefully my joining a ring will give me that little extra push needed to become more creative, knit more, and generally become a better knitter. Consider this blog (among other things) an account of my growth as a creative, resourceful, craftsperson.

That said, does anyone have a decent way of straightening out the cord on my new circular needles? I have forgotten how bloody annoying this is.

Let's try this again...

Hey... Look who has taken some initiative and decided to finally figure out how to change my colours into something more appropriate.

I can't believe it was that simple. I am so dense. Meh.

I've been busy. I've made a cool pair of socks in worsted wieght for a friend. They're more of a bed sock than a day-to-day sock, but I was still doing something, right?

Projects in the works include the two pairs of pants that I've yet to do anything with, a knitted cotton tank top for me, a sweater for Tekgrrl, our afghan, and the creation of a new bra/underwear wardrobe from my Wildginger software.

One of these days.

I really do love to sew, it's just such a hassle to get everything together (I hate cutting out patterns with a vengence). It's just so much easier to pick up a pair of knitting needles or a crochet hook and a ball of yarn and go to town.

Oh. And I did get a new brush for Isis. She loves it and I am getting a fair amount of fluff out of her. I'm thinking a sweater may be a little bit ambitious. We'll see what happens when I get enough to spin.

This is a test. Blogger is driving me nuts and won't publish my last post.

I've come to the conclusion that I need to buy a new cat brush. Here's why...

Before my parents' first Shetland Sheepdog died, I found a book in the library about spinning and knitting dog hair. Being as I am, I jumped at the chance. I only wish I still had the resulting soft, fluffy yarn. I loved that dog.

Anyway, I'm dead set on collecting enough Isis fur to make something soft and wonderful (lap afghan? Scaf? Sweater). She has the most beautiful colourings (pictures to come later). But she doesn't like to be brushed. Having brushed my own arm mere moments ago, I realised that this thing hurts! Of course she always runs away! I'll never get enough of her beautiful, long, silky hair with that monstrosity!

I will spin my kitty. :)

Just thought I would let the masses (such as they are, I'd be surprised if anyone is actually reading this), see that I actually accomplished something.

This is the Evil Kitten Purse. Please ignore the dirty pillowcase behind it. My sister took this picture from, I'm assuming, her dorm room. Dude. Wash your sheets. Sheesh!
