Wow.

It's been 20 days since I've last posted.

Things are hectic right now. I'm waiting to hear about a job oppourtunity. Hopefully on Friday they will call and let me know. Wish me luck, I could really use it. It would be absolutely perfect for us.

I've finished the purple shell and am working on Nicole from White Lies Designes. It's in a really pretty pink colour.

I hope to have a photoshoot soon of all my  new sweaters (Valerie, the Katia Denimn one, the Purple Shapley Tank).

I'm also working on the Princess Snowball cat bed from Stitch N' Bitch. I've even got Tekgrrl knitting on it. It's so cute how much she concentrates on each stitch. I'll make a knitter out of her yet! I hope to get her some yarn and needles and get her working on a scarf for winter time.

I've also been asked to design and make some items for a new store that will hopefully be opening next spring. If so, very cool. Everyone in Detroit should check it out when it gets off the ground.

That's about it for now.

As promised, I will be doling out some new knitting content.

I don't have pictures of the finished tops yet. Why? Well, I'm a big girl. As in, I want my hair and makeup to be done, I want to be wearing a bra and decent pants. Unfortunatly, the time I have to update this blog is usually spent in pajamas, with unwashed hair in a bandana. Blah.

One of these days.

This is a badly laid out picture of the front of a tank I've been working on. It uses Schachenmayr Micro from Elann in Grape.

The reason why this looks misshapen is because it is very hard to keep a piece of knitting in one place with a cat running around. Especially a cat that claims any piece of knitting as her own.

And here is a close up of the centre front panel. It uses a Vandyke lace panel, flanked by two opposite-twisting 6-stitch cables.

I really like this yarn. It is a sport weight "micro fiber" AKA acrylic, but it is very smooth, soft and drapey. It comes in wonderful colours too. I notice that Elann doesn't have as many colours left as it did when I bought it, but I have this purple colour, as well as a blood red, a pink (cyclemen), a grayish mauve, and some dark brown that I thought was black. That's the trade off for getting cheap yarn from the internet, I suppose.

Has anyone had any sucess dying acrylic fibre black using RIT dye? I know that Dylon won't work - it seems to only work on natural fiber.

Today is a good day. It's only 10:30, and I'm sweating and covered in flour. That would be a combination of baking bread as well as cooking and roasting chickpeas. Which burnt. Oh well.

Today's agenda is to make bread, brownies and maybe some chickpea potato curry. Who knows, if I get really ambitious, banana muffins, too.

Knitting Content!!!

I'm finally back in the game. I've written the pattern for my Zoo-Along project and have posted a picture of the finished product...

In other news, Rudy is here visiting. Isis and Rudy haven't seen each other in a couple of months, and they are very excited.

Also, he's been helping me to knit when he isn't busy getting his butt kicked by a kitten 2/3 his size.

Lots of fibery goodness to come, I promise. I have two finished sweaters, and am currently working on a couple of summery tops. But after such a long absence from the the blogging world, I wouldn't want to overload anyone's visual centers with pics.

Oh. And Happy Canada Day!!! I love getting paid for sitting around in my pajamas, knitting my little heart out.

PLUS!!! The new Knitty is out! What a great day!
